Virtual cards: picking one for online use
Pay mostly on the web? A virtual card could be sufficient. It is created in a few minutes, can live in your phone’s wallet where allowed, and covers subscriptions, software and shops abroad. Chat-bot services and slim apps sell plenty of them.
The differences lie in small print: the cost of creating and loading, how money is converted, which merchants say no, and what the card does when funds run out. Entries answer these where the terms permit.
Many providers are young and thinly documented. If the terms stay quiet, the entry says so outright, and third-party figures carry an unofficial label.
